Robin Howcroft

Associate Financial Planner

About Robin

After completing sixth form, I started my career in financial services working for a leading high street bank. Throughout the following nine years, I’ve held various roles within the bank, while studying for my financial planning qualifications in the evenings and on weekends. Once fully qualified, I attained the position of financial planning manager. This allowed me to advise and help clients achieve their financial goals, whether that be through investment or protecting what matters most to them.

After looking for my next challenge, I honed my skills and technical knowledge, which include conducting research, formulating advice, and writing complex suitability reports for use in client meetings. I also support the financial advisers by answering any technical queries. I have continued to study while working, so I’m now also a qualified mortgage adviser.

Qualifications
  • DipPFS- Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning (CII)
  • Certificate in Mortgage Advice (CII)

What do you enjoy most about your job?

Seeing my advice have a positive impact on my clients’ lives, such as allowing them to take that extra holiday, retire earlier than expected, or help their children. It’s extremely rewarding to effect change and put my clients in a better position.

I enjoy getting to know clients and building long-lasting relationships based on trust and mutual respect. It’s also rewarding to break down complex information and jargon in a way that is easy to understand for our clients.

However, the most rewarding thing is educating clients to put them in a truly informed position with regards to their finances.
